I got some brass from a guy a couple weeks ago, 308 mixed head stamps. He said it was once fired stuff. I was trying to get them resized yesterday and man were they difficult. They'd go but I was super worried about sticking one in the die. So is this what brass does when its been reloaded too many times?
Got to looking at them after resizing and 4 or 5 of the 50 or so had some kinda split in the neck or shoulder. I even found one that was split up the side from the base to the shoulder.
So... I'm thinking I probably need to throw out the whole lot. I made the mistake of putting twenty of my twice fired mixed head stamp cases in with them while cleaning so I'm gonna have to throw them out as well I guess. No way to tell which is which.

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
Sounds like brass that was fired from a gun with a really loose chamber. Neck sized brass tends to uniformly fail at the neck and full length resized brass tends to get a distinctive ring around the middle just before it separates.

This is for brass that has been resized a lot.
