Here is SEI's rebuttal to my dismissal motion.

As I previously described here, SEI sued me in Arizona federal court for alleged product disparagement due to comments I made on this forum while waiting for SEI to deliver several receivers that I had on order. I retained an attorney, we filed a motion to dismiss SEI’s complaint against me, and SEI's rebuttal is linked below with all exhibits. I wish I could discuss the documents with you, but I cannot.

I will be updating other forums I visit – if you want to do the same, you’re definitely free to do so (all of these documents are publicly available). I will keep everyone updated on further court filings Wednesday of this week.


Again, I’m sorry for the distraction caused by this situation, but feel strongly this should be openly discussed. Thanks again for the support and encouragement while I deal with this complaint everyone. All the best.

wonder what happened to exhibit D..... anywho... looks like they're challenging his sworn statement about never being a gunsmith in that stuff, and while most of it (in the opinion of a complete and total amateur who knows next to nothing about gunsmithing) seems pretty benign, there's some really iffy statements made in some of those forum posts... I'd say he's headed for a rough patch...

I have to say I'm still not certain the statements were even facially slanderous. I'm not entirely certain that saying that a company is holding back product to make certain there are no defects is disparaging. What is not in dispute is that SEI was not delivering paid-for product even remotely on time. Saying it was for quality control purposes is not exactly slamming them in my book.

You started your account here 4.5 years ago, put up a couple posts and then disappeared. You didn't show up again until a month ago, and then only to whine about SEI's oh so harsh treatment of you. You obviously have no real desire to be a part of this community, and couldn't care less about us, so it seems your only goal here is to continue pissing off SEI's legal team.

This one is must read. I would like very much to discuss these documents with you guys, but alas I need to keep my mouth shut or else Dan may drive up and put a whooping on me. This complaint has implications for all hobbyist builders and therefore I am keeping the firearms community updated.

Fight the good fight, but in one of those documents i read "Indeed, SEI offered to waive its monetary damages if Hammonds would stop making false

statements, post a retraction and an apology, and, if Hammonds maintained he had a

reliable source for the statement, identify the source." I obviously dont know the whole situation, but it seems these guys have a legal team, they seem to be whiners, i get that, but in this country today, if you are given an out, take it, unless you have the means to fight for what is right, then obviously do it. Hope it all works out for you. They do have one point, you selling m14's, they are selling m14's, the way the laws are written they have something to stand on, its too bad, too many people care way to much what other people say about them. Any way you look at it, Hammonds is a liar. He either lied posting on the M14 boards about all of the M14 builds he was doing, or he was lying when he filed a court document saying he didn't have the time, skills, or equipment to do so. He dug himself a pretty big hole. I don't see him getting out...

I'm not sure what his end game is for coming here and posting, I'm guessing it's just to get attention. I'd say he's going to get plenty attention that he doesn't want from a certain Bureau.
