Another reason to carry while on the homestead. +1 to the property owner. R.I.P. to the asshat trying to rob him. I hate criminals. But the Libs would likely vilify me for not taking up his cause and coming to his defense because he is probably just trying to feed his family or just trying to even out the wealth inequality that he is experiencing. OH well. To those: go occupy a park.

A person on my FB knows them. They posted the address of the deceased...or where it went down...

Needless to say they are pretty pissed at my response "don't try to rob someone and you won't get shot"...

There is no duty to retreat here. In this case where are you going to retreat to anyway?

Haha, true. I always think about somekind of worst case scenario in which the homeowner is held liable. What a nightmare that would be.

There's a well known fella in Britain who shot a robber in his country home and was jailed for it - after he had been robbed numerous times before! I think his name is Peter Flanagan... but I suppose that's Britain.

+1 for the citizen, -1 life for the idiot. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid! It does help cleanse the gene pool though.

I'm surprised that the 16 year old hasn't been charged with murder.

Isn't that generally how things like that go?

Perhaps it's an age thing, or perhaps those charges are forthcoming.

    Good guy wins.......maybe

Let's see how quick the local urban "support" groups jump in.

"He had no right to shoot that young man."

"He didn't even have a real gun."

I am sure this will make the Mayor and Police Chief's next photo op on how bad guns are...

I already heard "he wouldn't do that"...welp, even the cohort admits they were trying to rob the person.

Like I told her, if he tried to rob me on my porch I woulda shot also.
