    The AR15 is a new "want" to me....would i be a fool to sell/trade a marlin 30-30, S&W 63-5 .22 revolver, and a 870 pump shotgun to purchase a Colt LE 2960 Magpul or a fool not too?

I wouldn't, but I rarely sell any guns. They have to be absolute junk for me to get rid of them.

I "dark hole" money, a little at a time, until I finally have enough to buy what's next on my list. It can be challenging sometimes and my patience can be tried and I don't have as big a collection as some guys, but it works for me.

Getting back on topic, I have no problem selling or trading a gun or guns for something that will get more use.

I'd rather have 2 guns that I shoot well vs a bunch of guns I can't shoot at all.

This is my thinking. I do not like having things I do not use. I am actually trying to sell a rifle now so I can finishbmy AR build sooner.

Ar15s are great but IMO I wouldn't get rid of guns now. More guns the better.

    I Disagree.

All you need is a carry pistol, and a battle rifle, and lots of ammo. And the skills to operate both, properly.

Once you can do that, THEN look into adding another gun.

Remember, beware of the man with 1 gun.
