I probably didn't use a very good title, but thanks for checking it out.

Is there a list of exposed hammer semi-auto compact pistols in 40 S&W That are under $500?

I have googled, but only come up with the striker fired ones.

I saw a Ruger p94, but it is over 34oz and want something less than 28oz.

Or if you can suggest some makes and models for me to search for, that would be awesome as well.

I think many of the S&W Autos (the 3rd and 4th generations if I remember correctly) fit in that slot. Something like the 4006?

You might be able to find a Sig or Sig Pro in that range as well.

Taurus PT-940, had it over 10 years and is a very reliable firearm, it also was my EDC until I bought a Taurus PT-809 in 9mm.

Taurus also has their PT-840 which I don't have but which is identical to the 809 and 845 that I do have. Plan on buying the 840 when it comes out with the combo kit to include a .22 conversion slide so I can plink with it cheaper.

Currently Bud's Guns has the PT-840 352.00 to 362.00 and the combo should be in the 479.00 range when it comes out.
