Already in place at the casinos. I tried it at Indiana Grand or Live or whatever it's now called just to find out what the process is. If you decide to do this, out of curiosity of course, save yourself a trip. Leave your ammo in your vehicle. You can bring a gun in and they will lock it up for you but you can't bring the ammo in. That way, when somebody breaks into your vehicle, they may get your ammo but they won't get your gun. Thank you IN Grand or Live or whoever you are.

It's February how can something be dead for the year!

Indiana has a part time legislature. If a bill is not heard by the cutoff deadline in the initiating chamber - it is dead; until possibly reintroduced in the next session.

The bill was introduced in the Senate - and had to have its 3rd reading (passed) out of that chamber to the House by Feb 6 - so it is dead.

Bills are all introduced in the first week to 2 weeks.
they get "1st reading" - which introduces them and sends them to a committee.
The committee will hear (amend, possibly) and vote on the measure. - If for it - it goes back to the full chamber floor for 2nd reading. - if not - it is dead.
At 2nd reading - it can be amended on the floor of the chamber or it remains as it came out of the committee.
then 3rd reading the chamber votes - if approved - it is referred to the other chamber - if not approved - it is dead.

when the bill gets to the second chamber - repeat above. ...

I didn't bother to read it since this bill is dead this session, but it would be progress to be able to check your pistol at the door when you get summoned to the city-county-building etc. Probably wishful thinking to think .gov would apply this to themselves instead of just private venues.

Honestly I thought the same, heck I would prefer that over this bill. I can always choose to go to a game/concert/whatever, can't always choose if I have to go to the local courthouse.
