Looks like the anti-gun Travers' nomination is going nowhere, for now. The Senate sent it back to the WH. They managed to do one good thing for gun owners this session. Now we just have to wait and see if Obama will use a recess nomination or if he will resubmit it to the next Congress. If her were smart he'd just dump him and cut his losses. ATF has done without a permanent "leader" for years now (Bush's nominee was almost as bad as Travers). This looks like a good step towards abolishing the agency, not that that's likely.

We could use an ATF director that goes after crooks misusing guns, not legit gun dealers. I worry that an Obama ATF will look like Clinton's ATF. During the Clinton years, the number of ATF arrests for gun crimes dropped in half, while the number of FFL holders dropped in half as well.

The Clintonista ATF was more concerned with closing gun shops than it was closing cell doors. Sad.

"Traver, the chief of the ATF’s Chicago office,. . . "

This was as far as I had to read in the article to know it was just O'Bama trying to put more of his Chicago cronies in power in an attempt to make the entire country resemble that utopia which is Chicago.
