I'm probably going to build...or buy an upper.

.223 Wylde with a 1/7 or 1/8 twist. Prefer 18" barrel, but I'll go 16. I'd much prefer mid-length or longer gas system - "short" barrels such as those usually don't have rifle-length systems unless I want to spend $250+ on a barrel. And for MY intended purposes/usage - that's just not a wise expenditure.

It'll be very close, cost-wise, if I can build an upper as budget friendly as many complete uppers are. I'm looking forward to the after-Christmas and New Year sales, that's for sure.

Nothing that'd REQUIRE 1/7 for sure... 1/8 seems to be much more common. I'll probably end up with 1/8 by default almost.
