I'm shipping my Eotech back for repair, should I ship it in its hard plastic case, or just pack it in a small box?
I'm just worried the case won't come back to me.
I would wrap it in a double layer of bubble wrap, then pack it in a snug-fitting cardboard box.
They would probably resend the plastic case it came in, or even send it back in a brand new case, but let them do that on their own without risking not getting yours back.
Hell, you might even get two cases this way.
I just sent the original case , dont send any accessories or batteries with the original box.
Wrap in original box with another box, and dont forget to add you RMA RETURN number on the label.
I bought a new 512 that came with the nitrogen already purged...
They replacing all for free but it did cost 17$ to ship it insured.
Unless you wanna call L3 yourself
or
just look at the return directions they sent with your RMA #
Other than the advice I told you they should send you this,
To ensure a prompt turn-around, please write this RMA number on the outside of the package and return to EOTech within 30 days from this confirmation. Attached is the RMA Form with detailed instructions that will assist you with the RMA process. You will not be charged for this repair. If you need further assistance, please let us know. Please do not Send back the EOTech sight with any batteries.
I always keep the case as proof that I had that particular serial number. Also, it's easier to find a box that will hold just the gun. Probably cheaper too, due to less size & weight.
Eotech did not send me any notification about tracking, when it will arrive, nuttin....
I have allot of "passerby" around my area
and I told them to notify me when they would ship it back so I could be at the house when It showed up,
they didn't and it sat on the front porch,
luckily I was right behind the UPS man when he was leaving.
It could have "never" arrived... thanks Eotech
they did send me a new 512 and a pack o batteries.
