Might be multi platform. One gun with a standard mag conceals easier.... he looks like plain clothes.
Who knows, might be his only current weapon and he wanted more capacity.... because reasons.

Maybe that's fancy new lightweight body armor using birds to stop bullets. Remember that birds are descended from dinosaurs and I am pretty sure dinosaurs are bulletproof. Is there anything birds can't do? Warm down sleeping bags and now lightweight body armor.
