Shooting Ranges near French Lick?

We are spending a week in French Lick with my parents in April and I would love to do some shooting (Handguns) with dad. Anyone know of a public range nearby?

I have spent quite a bit of time there as well. I have family that have lived in the area since..well at LEAST the turn of last century. From what I have heard the area has built up quite a bit since I was last there. But there are still areas that haven't been touch or seen by humans for eons.

Yeah. We have a casino now............. Two refurbished hotels. The West Baden Hotel is worth a trip to see. Really.

But the town itself is still just a small town.

My Fiance's is from Jasper (30-ish min away) and they have a private club with a bad website: Index

If you browse around, it looks like their matches are non-sanctioned and they allow non-members to participate. Maybe that's an option? If not, becoming a member is only $50, so if they allow you to become a member and bring your dad as a family member, you would get your money's worth after a few visits.

We've got a shooting range just 2 miles outside of French Lick! It's called my in-laws back porch! LOL

I remember going into the west baden hotel when they were trying to demo all the ***** that was used to cover up the mosaic tile floors and fireplaces. Heck that was 30 years ago LOL

I STILL remember the old police station that was no bigger than an outhouse. LMAO!!

The West Baden Hotel is a real showpiece now. All the mosaic flooring that could not be restored has been replaced with patterned carpeting, and the whole building has been totally restored. If you saw it thirty years ago........... Well; you should see it now. A one of a kind building.

The one man police station is still around. They carried it around back of the current police station, and there it remains............

Last I recall the one man police station was at the foot of the drive from the sheridan hotel. And the 'new' police station was an old gas station/garage.

I dunno what the name of the hotel is now, but I always knew it as the French Lick Sheraton.....
