Nice tip, thanks! I'll make it a habit of flagging my right thumb until my arm is extended away from my body. I think it will come natural, as my mind will consider it as protecting the slide until it is free and clear.

I wonder if during the brawl, Zimmerman's gun was either grabbed, or hit his own chest. The police report apparently said it had a FTE the first round, and he was in a close struggle.
