Had a couple of tires replaced today and told the service guys I wanted my old wheel weights back.
It was quite obvious they had no clue WHY I wanted them, and one looked a little nervous when I told them.

It was amusing, and I got 3 nice big, heavy lead weights back.
Maybe enough for a couple of .38 projectiles.

Is this shop open to allowing you to take all the old wheel weights off their hands?

It may save them from "hazardous waste" charges when they dispose of them, and gets you all sorts of raw materials for your casting.

    I asked.
    No, they recycle them.
    Won't even sell them.
    It's a national chain store.
