You know what I change my mind. Maybe you shouldn't buy a gun today. Do you really need another gun? Does this new gun serve a purpose? What about mags, holsters, gear, optics, ammo for said gun? What will your wife say?

After living through the Clinton AWB I can whole heartedly say YES!
And, if you think you need 5 mags for it, keep adding to the pile till you hit 15.

If you wait, you may be paying 3x the price. If you can even find one you want.

I've had the new gun itch too, I happen to look at the Glock Blue Label certificate I had and found it would expire in two day, well I hate to waste a good discount so...I have a new G17 to join the other Glock 9mm's I have.

If you have debt OF ANY KIND - NO!

If you anticipate having debt from travel - NO!

If you do NOT have at least six (6) monthes of bills in an emergency savings account - NO!

If you do NOT have a college 529 savings plan funded for your kids (even IF you do not have kids yet but are planning to) - NO!

I could keep going but you get the idea.

    Regards,

    Doug the Meanie

I'm looking for advice on if I should buy a gun today. I have 2 trips planned this summer. But I think I have enough extra cash for a gun and the trips. Should I buy today or wait until the fall?

It's simple logic assuming the trips will take you near a stream, river or lake. How can you have a tragic boating accident this summer if you wait until the fall to buy your gun?
