    And power cycling the cable modem would fix that as well. Every time the modem reboots, it gets a new address.

    Hmm, really. I have one of those timers that power cycle my modem/router every day. Does than mean I could set up a shill account every day and never get caught?

    Depends on the size of the subnet. You'll rotate through them again soon enough.

    But I gotta ask. Why?

    My Cisco router needed reset with frequency, so I put one of those contraptions on. Solved it.

    OK, makes sense and as I suspected.

    FYI that means you need a firmware upgrade to fix the bug thats causing the lockups or a new one because the hardware is shot. But if you're cool with the equivalent of bungee cording the hood of your car because it works and its paid for, keep on truckin!

    I send my internet through smoke signals. pretty much fool proof, and doesn't depend on electricity. Just sayin'
