I am looking into getting a Sig as an EDC. I love the size of my Glock 19. Please make a suggestion on a Sig that meets following criteria:

Around same size or smaller than G19.
A mag cap around 15 would be great.

Other than that I'm really open!

Well, I think your only real option for a SIG that is smaller than a G19 but holds 15 rounds is the P250 Compact. Frankly, I'd probably pick a P228 instead (if I could find one), or drop mag capacity and go with a P239.

To get 15 rnds with the P228/229 you could go w/aftermarket Mec-Gar mags.
Be advised, it's a slightly larger/heavier pistol than the G19.

Or go with the P320... Striker-fired and full-size in 9mm only for now but fully modular soon for conversion to 357 Sig, 9mm, 40, or 45 ACP in subcompact, compact, or full size with three grip sizes each. And don't forget the summer rebate (free range bag and 2 magazines if you buy before Aug.1).

I have 2 P228s(W. German) and 1 P228R. I have 6 15rd Mec-Gar mags and they work flawlessly. X-Grip also makes an adapter for German/Mec-Gar 15rd mags. I also have an extended 18rd mag from MecGar. The 228s are a little bit lighter than the P229s because of the stamped slide vs. the milled slide. You can't go wrong with a P228/P229.:yesway:

Or go with the Polymer SP2022. 15rds as well along w/an 18rd extended mag from MecGar

Thanks for all the suggestions...looks like I need to go fondle a couple of the mentioned ones and see what fits. Sounds like the P229 might be a good fit but I will check out the others as well.

Don't get hung up on capacity unless you're shooting competitions that require it. For an actual carry piece, capacity hits diminishing returns pretty quickly. If you find one you otherwise like, I wouldn't worry too much about it "only" holding 10-12.

Another plug for the sp2022. I find myself carrying mine more now than anything else. It's never had a failure and it's stupid accurate and it's around $400 new with night sights. I might argue that it's the best handgun on the market for $400 new

M11 A-1 or P224. i have been caring one, or the other, or both lately and they have become more and more comfortable every day. the 224 with the 15 round extended mag is still pretty small. now, of course a real good holster speaks volumes for sure.

I am a big Sig fan, but one of their few shortcomings is that just about every Sig product of similar capacity to other manufacturers seems to be larger. I think maybe the Sig 320 may be the exception.

Carrying a handgun with a 17-19 round magazine isn't for everyone but I "feel" "better" doing so. You're quite correct, statistically. But I don't want to be the aberration in the statistics (the victim who ran out of boolits too soon). Paranoid? Maybe. But then again, maybe I'm just thumbing my nose at the stupid-ass magazine capacity limits some of my fellow Americans must observe.

BTW I'm getting a P320 early next week and will have 5 magazines and a proper retention holster for it. :D

When I carry which I don't everyday. I carry the P229 and leave the P226 at home for home defense. I'd be happy to have 13 rounds and 12 rounds magazines if I need more than 13 rounds in any situation.

i second the m11a1, mine came with 3 15 rd mags, night sights, it's been my goto gun, its a little smaller than my 226, and it fits in a lot of the same golsters as my glock 19(i have a galco paddle that fits my glock 19,my ruger p-85 and my 226,220 and the m11a1)

i just bought a fobus that holds a glock 19/23 with the light or laser, and it fits in that holster too
