I was looking to get a service size .22LR handgun, I do have a pair of Ruger .22's but to me they are more target/range guns than real training guns. so I looked at the new S&W M&P22 and IMO (not a bad gun) but not quite as good as I would like it to be, also looked at the SR22 and while seems well build to me is more of a plinking gun than real feel sidearm. I did come across a good deal on a Sig P220 .22LR classic and pick it up and after the initial inspection I must say that I think I made a good choice since seems that is very well made (IMO better than any other training .22LR platforms), SS great quality barrel, good adj sights and fits my hand way better than my P226. the only not so good thing about this handgun is the price as this was not cheap but on the positive side I can get a .45acp upper with night sights and mag for about $300.00
