Sig Sauer 2022 question

What is the purpose of the letters on the model numbers?
Example: E2022-9-B compared to the E2022-9-BSS, compared to the
SP2022-9-B or the SP2022-9-BSS.
Are there any differences in the models, upgrades, or just newer maybe?
Anybody know?

The new ones 9BSS has the new MILSPEC rail where the other older ones had the Sig proprietary rail. When buying a new one 9BSS the Sig polymer or ITAC holsters they sell will NOT fit the new models because they are made for the Sig rail and not the MILSPEC. They are very accurate guns and I love mine! You wont be sorry! Some are 10 round mags and some are 15 round mags depending on the model number so make sure you get the one you want (10 round or 15).If you have any other questions regarding the 2022 just let me know. If I dont know I will call our distributor or dealer contact at Sig and find out for ya.

There are also four different variants that may correspond in some way. If you are going to buy one, be more informed than I was and choose which one you are most interested in:

Internal extractor + LCI
Internal extractor + no LCI
External extractor + LCI
External extractor + no LCI

It's an amazing gun by the way.
