Understanding there is a trade off with most things. I am looking to swap out the sights on my Ruger SR 1911. In the past I have been very happy with a big dot front sight and extra wide plain black rear sight which are on my 9mm 1911. So it seems for me having a contrast between the front and rear sight speeds things up for me quite a bit. Looks like there are options out there for Orange, Red, and Yellow outlines on the front sight.

Have you found a particular color which is the fastest for you?

    Thanks

I've got Truglo TFXs on my Ruger LW Commander and love them! The price is a little salty but they work great, day or night!

Red or white work well I think. Depends on where you plan to be shooting and the light levels. Would not recommend white sight for snow, or non illuminated for night for instance.

I agree with you. I like the plain black rear sights and a fiber optic front. I feel my eye pics up the green fiber optic pretty good during the day.
