I used to drive (walk? ride?) every day by an old abandoned place on Kentucky Ave that's since been torn down. There was a sign on the gate at the entrance that said "Not enough room to clear man on side of car". I assumed it was meant for people who are driving a vehicle that might have a person standing on the outside, much like a garbage truck. It always did make me wonder though

A sign saying this, usually refers to a Rail Road Car, and warns that there is not enough room for a man riding on the car by standing on the bottom rung of the side ladder, to clear some sort of fixed object. You would usually see these on both sides of a gate where a rail goes through, or on the side of a building that a set of tracks run really close to.

In my hometown in Pennsylvania there's a street that's listed as both "One Way" and "No Outlet."

I always imagined there was just a while bunch of abandoned cars at the end of it.

Edit: I also saw sign once that was on the side of the road. Someone had spray painted on to a huge piece of cork board. "Lost goat. Not worth a reward"

I got a good laugh out of that one

The part about the man the side of the car has to do with rail cars backing into the dock. The RR worker who signals the engineer has to dismount or get squished.

oops! I see I've been scooped.

On the electronic road information sign in either Kentucky or Tennessee was " Buckle up, it's better than eating a windshield".

In FL we saw a U-haul/porn store. I guess if you buy too much and it won't fit in your car they can rent you a u-haul. We also always think the vasectomy billboards are funny. Hmmm at this exit we have a Wendy's, BP, Holiday inn and wait I think I'll get a vasectomy too.
