    Best answer I have gotten is that the town of Speedway is downrange. They have had pistol rounds get out of the range in the past and don't want to risk rifle rounds.

    This primarily; The City and I-465 are down range if a round leaves the range.
    Also, I am not sure the backstops are designed for many / all CF Rifle rounds ...
    Having done some range design - the backstops for this were a bit more substantial than what is at MCF&G.
