Maybe just me being old and cranky.
I will not loan a gun to anybody new, if it was a 100% stock gun and professionally maintained that would probably keep me safe on any lawsuit but my guns are not like that.
I hate it when somebody enters a match without watching a match first and doing a bit of preparation. In the past two of those guys have swung around with loaded 1911's, one about center mass on my chest and the other one at my naughty parts, I like to think those guys did not also have their fingers on the triggers.
Not to say that somebody can't watch a little bit and ask a few questions & be ready to go in a short time.
