Sounds like she was crippled by grief over her son's death (suicide) last year. Haven't seen anyone announce how she died. Possibly suicide as well? I can't imagine what it is like living with such a feeling of absolute hopelessness.

Every damn day they fail our Vets. I have a nephew that spent some time in Iraq that has been trying to get help for years. They keep giving him the run around and do nothing.
