For the love of God, please don't redo anything! These old guns are beautiful, living pieces of history and all those scrapes, scuffs, dents, and marks only add to their beauty. If you want shiny, buy new - literally. Buy a random surplus stock on eBay or, heaven forbid, a Tapco stock. Or, I'll trade you a mixmaster SKS and throw in some cash on my end to rescue that old Ruskie, and you can Bubba this one to your heart's content.

No worries! I have no intention of changing anything. I have an appreciation for these and love to shoot sks’s. I have not shot 2 of the 3. The M appears to have no wear on it at all. The darker one with the bayonet should clean up well. It still has cosmoline on it.
I have not taken them apart yet and cleaned them but someday.. 2 of these I just bought and haven’t decided what to do with them.
    Thanks for the information.

How much are the Soviet models selling for these days?

$400s to $600s - some even higher - with many I've seen recently in the $500 range. Sold prices are largely dependent on condition (duh :))

Whether you are in the market for one or thinking about selling, a good resource to check is the Gunbroker advanced search. Browse the completed listings for sold prices. Also, double check those completed auctions to make sure they haven't been relisted due to non-paying buyers. Tons of N/A "bidders" artificially inflate prices and screw up all sorts of auctions on that site.
