What an oversized overweight chinese frankinstien underfolder.....

Would have been cheaper (and handier) to just buy an AK underfolder and used the money you saved on ammo.

It would be cheaper to just buy an AK... IF the OP had bought the SKS to do the project. But Im assuming he already had the SKS, and just added an undefolder. So really, no, it wouldnt have been cheaper to buy an AK

I like it! Usually I am a purist when it comes to the SKS. But I really like what you did. I can't wait to see the final project.

How is the SKS?

I have never fired an SKS rifle. Are they accurate?

Of all the makes and models of SKS rifles, is there one that is considered high end quality compared to the others?

With a semi, you're just as well off, if not a little better with a Simonov as with a Kalashnikov. Especially if it's been modded for an AK mag, after that it's a solider rifle, and I think it's still cheap enough to be worth this. I may do something like this to my Norinco one day, as it's a real beater fixture-wise.
