Not a big gunsmithing project, but something fun to tackle on a Sunday afternoon...

I have a Tory AR-15 carbine and my sling has been mounted up front via a double loop of Paracord. Functional, but not really 'operator' looking enough! Looking at AIMSurplu's website this morning, I saw a QD sling mount that attaches through a hole in the Tory Alpha rail. Looks nice, but I don't have a QD swivel, and the rear is not QD atached, so I thought why not make something myself? I had a threaded sling swivel laying around, so I tirned out a little slug that fits in the hole of the rail and made a rear bushing with the female threaded part soldered into place. Pics are before I hit it with some Birchwood Casey blueing paste. It is ll blued now and back together. The length of the slug is perfect as it allows the two pieces to tighten down and still swivel in the rail.
