These are just plinking rounds. The goal is to limit the velocities to around 1,000 fps or less to minimize barrel leading. For a given load, the 20" rifle barrel gives me much higher velocities than a 6" revolver so the charge is reduced. I learned this the hard way by leading a rifle barrel with loads that were developed for the revolver. The revolver barrel stays fairly clean with them. The rifle, not so much.

I know this isn't what you meant.
However, I got to thinking about loading a SWC backwards so it looks like a wadcutter.
Question is. Will act like a boat tail bullet?
Would it help accuracy or degrade it at 25yds and 50yds?
I'm just thinking out loud so to speak.
Has this been done in the past?

Just got done wet tumbling 4500 brass of 40 s&w , then reloaded 2500rds- 180g Hoosier bullets, with V.V. 320 powder 4.7g. Started wet tumbling 6000 brass of 9m. Gonna try new 135g - Hoosier bullets. I was using 124g. I'd figure I'd give it a try, only need 930 fps. To make 125 power factor. ...Man my reloading room is a mess...

Testing some 180gr .300blk and 75gr .223 Remington. The .300blk made me a little nervous since the starting load of CFE BLK powder looked like it wouldn't allow enough space for the big 180gr bullet to seat.

223,30/30,270 and 32 s&w long. Went shooting today and unloaded a bunch. Time to fill them up again.

Loaded 100 ends of 00 buck cast from a lee 18 cav mold I got for Christmas. 8 of 8 at 10 and twenty and 6 of 8 at 30 on a uspsa torso target. Also cast 1200 .45 acp out of a new alloy of 10 lbs. Foundry type and 80 lbs soft lead. Even got them powder coated, excited to try them as I'm done trying to scrounge wheel weights to to get maybe a half bucket of COWW out of a full 5 gallon bucket.

I did a small batch of 38 special on Super Bowl Sunday. Only 30 rounds but going single stage that was all I could do with the time I had available and pay attention.

They will not last long.

Well, I am planning on taking a Snipers Hide long range precision rifle course this summer.
I am currently working on trying to figure out what load I want to use.
It's a 26" 6.5 CM and I am loading and testing 135gr ATIPs, 140gr ELD-Ms, and 147gr ELD-Ms.
I have several months to get this worked out, but am leaning towards the 147gr ELD-Ms for it's ability to hold the wind a bit better.
