I've been working up various loads for my M1903. Last week I tried IMR 4064, Varget, BL-C(2) and IMR 4895.
IMR 4064 grouped the best, and IMR 4895 barely hit the paper! The other two were okay, but not as consistent as 4064.
For my next trip I have 3 different powder charges (46.1, 46.6, and 47.4 grains) , 2 kinds of bullets (Hornady 150 FMJ vs generic 147 gr FMJ) and crimped vs. uncrimped rounds. Curious to see to what extent these variables affect accuracy.
Looks like I will be doing more 9mm and 556 soon. My BIL is getting low on his supply so I will be helping him out.
Yeah I know! He will owe me at some point when I need something! Times like this is when I wish I had my manufacture license. With the current demand, it wouldn't take long to pay for the license and insurance for a year. With the ammo shortage you should fetcha mint on those premium hand loads for the BIL
