So apparently the DOD just purchased 25,000 SOPMOD stocks for $12.50 a unit.
Army buys SOPMOD AR-15 stocks for just $12.28 | The Firearm Blog
Once again we see the real markup of a piece of plastic that usually sells for a few hundred bucks. For a company to still make money you have to figure they are still making a 60-75% profit margin. How much has LMT been ripping us off these many years? All I know is that this "BS systems" company needs to sell this to civilians at $25-50 a piece and make a freaking killing (assuming they arnt paying more than $4-7 to make it, if that).
Heck if they sold this to civilians at $12.50 I would bet money that it would become standard issue on every AR in the nation. So who is in for a group buy? 25k units at $12.50 a piece and turn around and sell them for $25-50!
*disclaimer* this tread could also very well be titled "the power of buying in bulk." I also am interested to see one in real life compared to the LMT and see if it is of comparable quality.
