For many years I lived about a mile off base from where the army would fire the big guns at Ft Sill Ok. I got so used to the constant "woomp, woomp" and the shake of the house that it took me several years after moving to this area that I could sleep without a white noise generator. It's too damned quiet here in Indiana. Of course I guess I could move into Indy or perhaps Chicago. . . .

I got used to F 111 Fs and SR 71s. Yes, Indy is quiet. Had a couple of 2,000 pounders land a little close while I was out west, but we lit all the nukes under ground while I was there. Did sway the buildings in Vegas 6 to 8 inches once.
