Just bought a bunch of surplus pistols from my wholesaler last week. The holsters that came with them are like cardboard. Whats a good way to soften them up a bit.
Neatsfoot oil !! the same oil you should have used to soften your baseball or softball glove, you can get it at any hardware store or sporting goods store, I use it all the time makes the leather last for years allso, The bottle I have is made by KIWI. Hope this helps.
Just be careful, holsters are supposed to be stiff. The last thing you want is to take away the retention capability and have them flopping all around. My leather holsters are all very stiff, like a thick piece of kydex, and thats how they're supposed to be. I would recommend breaking it in first. It'll soften up some.
Nope, I have always just sprayed the inside with EEZOX and left my gun in it over night. eezox drys and leaves a teflon residue behind, and you leather should contour, not mold to your gun frame. This helps it slide in and out, and won't make it too loose or make the leather break down. And since all I use is EEZOX on my firearms it gives it a lube job everytime you holster your sidearm. You can buy eezox at pop guns.
