    Becker makes a great knife for the money. a lot of bang for the buck. my only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the poly handles, but you can upgrade them to micarta if they aren't to your liking also.

    esee is also a great choice and check out tops knives too.

    After having owned a SOG seal pup elite, I wouldn't recommend getting one.

    I am however the happy owner of a Becker BK9, but it's a little large for a bushcrafting knife.

    If you are dead set on one or the other I would go with the becker for what your talking about doing. they are both great knives but the sog as much as i hate the word is more of a tactical/duty knife than a woods/camp utility blade
