Sold - Remington 870 Wingmaster for parts only, Pre 1968
-Remington 870 Wingmaster.
-12 Gage 2-3/4” only.
-For parts only.
-I believe it is marked by Remington as being unsafe.
I was looking at buying this gun from a friend who desperately needs the money. In researching it I believe from the barrel markings that it had at some point been sent to Remington for service and was returned with a #4 stamped on the barrel which from what I can find indicates it was “Returned as received” and they will never work on it because it is an unsafe firearm. Not knowing this my friend said he had put about 45 rounds through it without any problems so it works and many of the parts must be usable but the gun must be considered unsafe (unless you can find information that says what I found is wrong).
From information I can find it was made between 1950 and 1968. The S/N has no prefix and it has a “V” suffix which indicates 2-3/4 shells only and the barrel is marked 2-3/4 or shorter shells. The stock has a section broken just behind the receiver but other than that it appears to be in decent shape. No rust or pitting and the bore looks good to me (but I’m not a shotgun guy). I believe because of its age and what similar guns are selling for that it has many valuable original parts.
Asking $150 or best offer.
Located in NE Indy and will travel ½ hour.
FTF, Cash only and will need to sign a Bill of Sale.
Thanks for looking and please message me with any questions.
