Yes, although I am an Indiana resident I work in this God forsaken place, but it pays the bills. Sometimes I wonder if the price is worth it, but yes, I have been an unarmed target (at least 9-5) for over 25 years.

I also work in Chicago and it sucks. I have talked to window washers before. Depending on height of building they get paid by the drop as in if they can go down 4 times instead of 3 they make more. But it does depend on building size. And they do not make that much. Most of the ones in my building are Mexican

There is a company down south here that installs radio/antenna towers all over the world. I used to have a picture of the company owner changing a light bulb at the top of the mast on the Empire State Building. Interestingly, I was meeting with him once and he said he had something interesting to show me. We walked over to a corner in the warehouse and he had the original airship mooring mast & antenna from the ESB. Seems they had replaced it and no one said anything about them not keeping it. King Kong jokes abounded.

    Am I missing something?

I'm assuming there is supposed to be a window washer in the pic, but I'm not seeing it. Too dark?

I used to regularly go to the very top of the bank bld. in Indy (whos name is on it now???) and climb about halfway up on of the antenna's to change out a series of sensors for the building automation system. It was an experience. Especially in the winter.

I've watched people climb the 997' antenna tower by my place. No way I could make it up then come back down without a change of pants.

When I worked Maintenance at Emge in Ft Branch, IN, I voluntered to go into the water tower to varify the job a water tower repair company fixing the leak was doing. It was 150 ft up and I was harnessed to a cable until I got to the catwalk that went around the tank. I had to unhook and then go up another ladder to the top of the tank. I was doing good until I grabbed onto the third ladder that was attached to the very top. It was on rollers that allowed it to rotate 360 degrees and pivited at the very top. I didn't know it was able to move until I grabbed it and it moved. I thought i was going to puke.

I went inside watched the repair and made it back down safe and sound. It was something that I wanted to do just to see if I could do it. It is now crossed off the list and not something I would volunteer for again.
