    9mm RIA 1911.
I can't believe I didn't take a before picture of this but it was the GI version with the tiny sights.

    What I did;

Peen frame rails and tighten slide to frame fit,
    Installed over sized barrel bushing
Milled slide for Novak Front and Bomar Rear sights + Sights
New Trigger, Hammer and grip safety.
Flat topped the slide and lightened the under side.
Some decorative cuts in top of slide since it was already in the mill
Finished everything off with Gray Titanium

The gun locks up nice and tight, I test fired it today it is a whole different pistol then before.

I wish I could keep all of them that I work on :)

1911's can be a lot of work compared to some other popular models but I sure do enjoy working on them. It's more satisfying to me.

I've been looking for a beater 1911 to fix up, or possibly building one from constituent parts. Would you be willing to help me out with that [you have the equipment, I do not]? Happy to pay for your time and work around your availability :).

Sounds good - I'll keep my eyes open. I don't mind starting with a beater but would feel a bit more 'involved' if it was built from constituent parts :).

Constituent -> a component part of something.

I.e. building it from all of it's individual parts rather than as a kit or pre-assembled gun.

The word has other meanings as well but, in this case, it means from it's individual pieces :).

The real "before" picture added to the OP. Thanks for a great job, Allen.

Also, I liked the feel of your load, but I liked mine better. Should I still install the 14 pound spring if I go with my load?

Que this must be the Rock Island 1911 you told me about at the Indy 1500. Looks great. Allens work always amazes me. Took a GI spec 1911 and turned it into your 1 of a kind 1911.

That is another outstanding job. Makes me want another 1911! Or can we just build another top half for mine? :):

You sir, have a gift. I really enjoy looking at your astonishing works of art on here. In fact I envy your skills. I would love to do gunsmithing like this, but I'm lacking in the "paint" department and afraid that any investment in schooling could be wasteful if I were unable to "renew" guns like what I see on here. Enough with the threadjacking, congrats on the nice 1911.
