Made you look. No gun porn this time. The body shop has demanding my attention as of late and thought I would remind INGO we do car work too :)

Here are a couple recent jobs and couple misc pics

2014 Toyota Prius hit in the back end.

No real before pic but hit hard enough the drivers side rear door would not open.

Straightened unibody and cut off the parts that would not repair

    Rebuilding

refinishing the underside. Fuel tank and HV battery have been removed

    After paint work and reassemble

    And done

Here is Brand new BMW 435 that got rearended right after being bought.

    beginning repairs

one of my estimators made an entertainment center out of the quarter panel crate :)

    Taking apart, drilling welds

    Planning cuts.
An Approved BMW repair has very few welds. Even though the car is resistance welded at the factory they want them repaired using a process called "rivet bonding" the name is pretty self explanatory. But you have to use their $300.00 a tube glue and a special BMW approved self piercing rivet gun and rivets. We are one of the few shops in central Indiana that this rivet tool.

the new quarter comes with these sleeves that are used to glue the splice areas together. No welding

    Rebuilding, pre fitting

    Joint with sleeve

Rivet tool. these make there own holes and the rivet heads sit flush with the panel. no pre drilling, kind of nice actually

    prep for paint

    painted ready to reassemble

    Done

    Some misc pics.

Full frame swap on new F150

not sure what this was but we did a lot of work to it :)

    Toyota Venza unibody being measured

    other pics to come

Wow, gives me an insight into what went on when my car was smashed years ago. I had a 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT, one of the first in Indiana. Had a good scratch on the rear hatch and was taking it to get it fixed when I got rear ended at a dead stop...hit hard enough you couldn't open the rear doors. It was fixed though. The interior parts were trashed too and had to be boated over from Japan lol

That rivet machine is very cool.....does the finished rivet look kind of like a spot weld?

Man, that would make me sick if that was my BMW. Not that it don't look new.....it looks perfect, but I would just hate to think my brand new BMW is really a rebuilt BMW.

    You funny guy, Allen!

Bet that BMW owner went from giddy with excitement to sad as fast as that car will hit 0-60!

I remember you fixing the BMW. The way they repair it with glue and the special rivets was crazy. Didn't it take like 6 weeks to get that rear quarter panel from over seas?

Now I feel kinda' bad for complaining about the cost of a rear fender repair on my daughters car .

A LOT more to it than the shade tree stuff we did in the 1980's -- unbolt the bad , bolt on the good , paint , done .

maybe a little but you can tell it is not a spot weld.

    Outside the coup
Looks very good. I've had to have things repaired on that level before and it really sucked. I went into the shop one time to see how things were going and because I was curious. Yeah, never again. It's bad enough to have your vehicle damaged and see it like that, it's another to see it taken apart to that level during the repair process. My wife said it looked worse BEING repaired than it did before it went it. Everything was great when it was done but the process looks rough.

On a firearms note, I'm curious what the guy used on the individual that hit him in the rear of that BMW when it was new. How many shots were fired, ammo used and wound ballistics. Were head shots involved or just center mass? I'm thinking a few .45 HST's would be appropriate.

I don't know, I actually liked seeing it torn down (pics posted on his site while the work was being done) when I've had car's in Allen's shop. Gave me a better appreciation of what they do.
