Who's putting out some plots and what are you putting in them? I"m going to mix mine up since I have a few turkeys in the area.

Weather shows sunny and 50 on Wednesday, plan on getting out to get some clover in the ground! Then later corn, beans, turnips, and depending on how wet the spring is hope to get some sorghum out to flood for waterfowl!! What are you mixing?

Gonna put in a mix of clover, alfalfa, maybe some chicory and then some beans and maybe some sweetcorn. I've got some frigid forage plot screen for along the road. Look up frigid forage.

If you're planting turnips for deer your window should be sometime first of middle of august. Deer LOVE turnips, but not until it gets cold. They'll eat the tops after the first good hard freeze and they'll eat the actual turnip later on in the winter.

I planted turnips, rape and brassicas mix last September 1st and the deer and rabbits have barely nibbled on it. Not very impressed.

I planted turnips and brassicas and some grasses and they've been hitting it hard. I'll try and get pics.

There you can see where the deer have been working on it. Lots of tracks in it. Looks like a cow pasture with all the tracks.

Antler king: no sweat is shade tolerant.

No one has discussed soil ph and affect on plant growth. I feel like its one of the more important aspects of proper plot growth a little more work and money but greater yields

    A lot of fertilizer too.
