If you're planting turnips for deer your window should be sometime first of middle of august. Deer LOVE turnips, but not until it gets cold. They'll eat the tops after the first good hard freeze and they'll eat the actual turnip later on in the winter.
i was going to try and put in a half acre plot. first time to ever try it though. is it getting to the point to get seeds planted?
I planted turnips, rape and brassicas mix last September 1st and the deer and rabbits have barely nibbled on it. Not very impressed.

Antler king: no sweat is shade tolerant.
No one has discussed soil ph and affect on plant growth. I feel like its one of the more important aspects of proper plot growth a little more work and money but greater yields
