Springer 1911's MIA

Ive been searching online for a springfield 1911(Milspec or Range Officer) and they seem to be out of stock everwhere i look. Anyone know why?

Tomlinson's in Churubusco had a Range Officer. Don't know if they still do. They also had a loaded "commander" as well. Stainless with night sites.

Springfield 1911's in general have been somewhat difficult to come by lately, since 2011 anniversary of the 1911. I have seen them trickle in slowly lately though.

My LGS has a great selection of Springers on the shelf! A couple used ones too!

Went to my lgs last Thursday picked up a new S/A 1911 Stainless for 100 under retail that just hit the shelf earlier that day. She's a nice one.

They do production runs and fill the pipeline & then switch over to other products for a while. Seems like last year they were real scarce about this time and then I saw supply catch up around February in the local shops around these parts. A call to Springfield should give you an idea of where they are at in terms of production plans.

Springfields definitely have their fans, but if you can't get it at a good price due to short term supply issues then their are a lot of excellent alternatives.
