I dunno, I think a taser would have been more prudent that 8 rounds in the chest... but I wasn't there.

1. Not every department/officer even carries Tasers
2. Why should the officer have to use less-lethal force to combat lethal force?

It is hard to see what he did at the ed anyway. He was walking toward the officer with purpose so who knows what was said or done. I admit that I forgot that not all officers have tasers though. Sorry for the repost.

Taser is a 21-24ft projectile. Knife is extremely deadly by anyone within 30 or so feet. Unless there is a physical barrier between me and the armed suspect, I will NOT confront a knife with a taser. That knife will easily kill me.

Im sorry, but even if I do have a taser, I must remain my reactionary gap and IMO he is already within that gap and I need to use whatever force necessary to go home at the end of the day. Don't come at police officers with a knife and this wont happen to you.

My response when someone says that we should just shoot a deadly threat in the leg is "I'm not that good of a shot" and they shouldn't watch so much TV. Shooting the gun out of someones hand is make believe crap.
