I thought so. I never had stupid posts like +1 or anything like that…who knows.
It’d be nice to message people, specifically for reloading advice/recipes, but honestly I’m a lot more active on other forums.
You should be good to go. Try logging out and back in.
It might just take a little time for the system to recognize that you're now qualified to do the conversation thing. You could always ask one of the mods about it.

And while we’re at it: to clear your IMs (because it will fill up, eventually)—you do it by exiting out of conversations.
That’s referring to your posts. I’m talking about the private messages, the things you create when you ”start conversation”.
I dont think there is a limit for site supporters, but there is a limit of 50 or less for freeloaders.
And as a mod I'm not sure if we have unlimited so I clear my messages out often. It doesn't take long to get to the 500
