In a word, Yes.

There are a couple differences... I believe MI is a must notify LEO state if stopped. Also I think they may restrict carry in bars... You might check on that.
But they do definitely honor the IN LTCH.

In Ky. You have to open carry if you do not have a cc permit. If you have a cc permit you must carry concealed or be arrested.

I generally go to Michigan to fish and to Florida through Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia to visit my son and his family. Your information confirms what I thought to be true. Thank you.

About the only way I see you carrying there is illegally. They don't honor any other permits/licenses. And from what it sounds like it is extremely difficult to get one of theirs.

This is from handgunlaws.com: The Leading State Laws Site on the Net:
Maryland Code: Public Safety -Article 27 - Crimes And Punishments : Handguns : § 36E. Permits.
In Maryland it is almost impossible for a non-resident to obtain a permit. You must show cause with police reports etc. Click on Maryland in the header to go to the Maryland State Police. There is info there on applying. Click on the Maryland Code above and it will take you to LexisNexis and you can look at the Maryland law on permits. We can not link directly to the law you must go to Public Safety. Then Article 27 and so on to read the code on Permits.

If you are traveling out west, what is the best way to get your guns through the states that don't honor Indiana permits? Are you allowed to transport through without a permit?

Put the gun in a case, lock the case, put the case in the rear area of you vehicle, put the ammo in another area of your vehicle. That is the federal regulations, and will keep you legal in I think all of the states, as long as you are just passing through.

Even the socialist state of Illinois can't keep you from driving your gun through their state.

Wish I had seen this sooner! Just went on a trip to Michigan and left everything home because I just assumed a state like Michigan would never recognize an Indiana permit. Felt vaguely uneasy the entire time.

Yes, there's an easy way to carry in Ohio, but not an inexpensive one.

The Florida non-resident permit allows you to do so. You must show some form of training, like the IN hunter education course or an NRA class and pay Florida $117 or so every four years.

Another option is the Utah non-resident permit. You pay for the class with a certified Utah instructor (there are at least two here on INGO) and then pay Utah $65.25. Five years later, you pay Utah another $10.

Hope this helps!

Blessings,
Bill
