The match is ON for Saturday.

The weather looks "iffy" as of today. If there is rain, we will shoot through the drops. But, if there is lightning, we will hide in the barn, cars, or the clubhouse :: your choice...

I'd like to hear from some RO's who will be there, as there are a couple major matches that are competing with steel this weekend.

Thanks !!! Hope to see you there.

Steel shoot is usually 4 to 5 stages of steel targets. Each stage will consist of 4 to 5 pieces of steel that must be engaged. There are usually 5 strings of fire at each stage that are timed by the buzzer and the worst time is thrown out. Best 4 of 5 strings. Steel shoot is great to hone your accuracy and your speed to engage targets. There is very little movement if any. Steel shoot is a ton of fun. You can shoot .22 handgun or rifle, any pistol that you wish and any pistol caliber carbine. Hope to see you there.:ar15:

Thanks again, Chizzle. And, thanks in advance to SingleSix and Don P.

    Set-up starts at 8:30.

BJones described the match perfectly -- If you have a 22LR pistol, that would be perfect for a start. Bring about 300 rounds of ammo, and actually use somewhere between 125 (perfect match) and 250 (lots of misses from going too fast...)

Hope to see you there !

One other thing for folks wondering :: NO "limited Benny" scoring tomorrow.

I'm thinking of adding two new divisions though, for the few that liked that style ... the Benny D. division for revolver shooters, and the Jim H. division for semi-auto shooters. That way everyone will have a choice on how they want to play. (It's not ready for tomorrow, though. It may make more sense to break it down by holstered vs. low-ready, since the scoring method makes it revolver neutral.)

OK, no more thinking out loud... I have a match to plan !!! :scared:
