Anybody have any neat ideas on how to store handguns on the back side of a safe door? I would like to hang mine somehow to free up some shelf space.

Those are definately an option. Do you have personal experience with them?

I was also thinking of a hanging mat type deal with pockets for magazines and maybe a big pocket for paperwork (I have all my auto titles, passports etc in there as well.)

Also remember to check for clearance when closed.
It might run into your shelves, etc. :twocents:
I know it's obvious but I occasionally miss crap like that on projects.

I use these for my handguns, they are cheap and work well as long as you have some sort of shelves in the safe. The only caliber they will not work with is .22lr-

I got one of those wire shelf holders and just spot welded it to the door...
It was the ones that have the white plastic covering.... I like it because I can keep them loaded and ready to jack a round and rock n roll....

Well I happen to find them at H&H Firearms when I was there one day, a pack of three for like $9.99 (I believe)

They also sell them online, its a pretty good solution to free up some space. They are coated so that the inside of the barrels dont get scratched. Im sure one could easily make something like that, overall they have worked like a charm!

Liberty sells a door "hangar" of sorts. It mounts right into the same holes as the carpet on the door, and holds quite a few pistols and accessories. Beware what a previous poster said though, thick guns like revolvers have to fit in a pouch that is not next to a shelf, or there isn't enough clearance.

This is the exact model I have:

    Liberty Safe - Pistol Pockets

I have pics but unfortunately no web hosting site to post them from. I believe I paid around $60 at Gander Mtn for it, not the $89 the website says.

Those are neat. Do you know the name of the manufacturer? How long ago did you get them at H&H? I may have to swing by there and get a few if they still handle them.

Those acorn pistol pockets are winning so far. I like how they store flat against the door, since my shelves come out almost the full length of the interior.
