Now this I've heard one shouldn't do, because the rifle firing pin strikes will pierce the SPP cup and allow hot gases to erode the bolt face. Just sayin'...
I've used them a few times on 556 loads never had a problem. That was years ago. As I stated for over 20 years now I just buy small rifle primers for pistol and rifles.

    1) Right now is the time to trade SRP for SPP. Or just recently I traded LPP for SPP. The proper exchange rate is 1:1 for those who are curious. But in my experience Gun guys tend to help out other gun guys. I would try trading for what you need.

    2) from what I have been told LRP are not interchangeable with LPP.

    3) Many first hand accounts of SRP being substituted for SPP. The problem is that SRP are harder and many not be reliable in all handguns. I don’t know but have read where SRP are basically same as magnum SPP. And Magnum SRP would be similar to the #41 primers. But that is internet and gun shop lore so who really knows.

    4) I personally believe SRP could be used in Service pistols with good firing pin springs or magnum revolvers. I would not use SPP is the AR style rifles.
