So I am venturing into a AR build and see that I need some tools. I have a full woodworking shop with vices and punches. I was wondering if I can get away with piece mealing needed tools or just go with a good kit? What interests me is the torque wrench. Are the digital reading ones worth the expense?
I think I will only build one rifle... maybe two. If it is like woodworking... I look forward to the addiction!
I may be able to scrap build a vise block out of some wood.
    So what are the recommendations?
Which kit? Or, individual tools? will I need.

    thanks in advance

Your torque wrench question intrigues me though. I have built dozens of match winning AR rifles with thousands of rounds through them over the years. What would you use a torque wrench for?

So with my research... most of the nicer kits have a torque wrench, just not digital. I believe it would be used to assist in securing the barrel as a part of the upper assembly.
Your question makes me think that the wrench is perhaps unneeded.

Another question. Am I correct in thinking that for a Left handed rifle, I only need to be concerned about the upper? Any standard lower will work right?
So a left handed upper, left handed BCG that's it right?

Correct! Any Lower will work! Check for Complete Uppers in the upcoming Holiday sales. May get a Complete cheaper than buying the Parts and Tools.

I understand I can also work on making the lower left handed... ambi safety. I was just making sure it was as simple as mating the left handed upper with a standard lower.
    Thx
