Visited my brother-in-law and took my SKS with me so he could look it over and tell me a few things that would make life as a firearm owner less of a hassle. Here's the kicker--there was no cosmoline on it, just the packing grease that it was shipped with. So, that means a far easier clean up and prep for me. He had an extra booklet on the disassembly and cleaning that he gave me, showed me how to use a front sight C-clamp type tool...then, to my surprise, he hands me a package of stripper clips and five boxes of Norinco ammo to get me started!

    Wow.

    A good day, indeed!:D

You wee lucky, my SKS had cosmoline in every place there could have been. It took me several hours to clean it up. That will be the last time I buy a rifle like that. Good for you though.:):

I had to clean a Yugo 24/47 that had so much cosmo that I promissed to never buy a rifle like that again.... Took me weeks to get it out of the wood... but at the end of the day, it was well worth it... :D:D

    Cant wait for another one!!!
