    Yes and no. The sound will be much quieter from the shooter's perspective but there will still be a super-sonic "crack" downrange as the bullet passes.

    Suppressors do a much better job hiding flash at night than a regular flash hider. But the AR platform Vortex flash hiders do a very good job hiding flash as well.

    not enough to matter, it is still going to be a loud boom and a crack,anyone within 500 yds will recognisze it as a gun shot

    I highly doubt anyone at 500 yards could even HEAR this, much less recognize it as a gunshot and/or pinpoint which direction it came from. I was about 25 feet away, upwind, and it sounded about like a pneumatic nailer.

    Nobody I know who shoots a suppressed .308 or 5.56 bothers with subsonic ammo. Suppressors do a fine job of keeping the noise level hearing-safe, IME.

    Yes it will suppress. Now it won't be as quite as subsonic rounds due to the sonic crack, but its still much quieter than being unsuppressed.
