suppressor sound question

this is kind of a general question as im sure it has alot of varibles like ammo, gun etc.

assuming a bolt action or single shot gun as i understand it in a gun there are 2 sounds. sonic crack, explosion.

is there a rule of thumb especially on 22s of what percentage of the sould is sonic, explosion,

the suppressing a 22 mag thread got me thinking

if you are shooting sub sonic ammo there is no sonic crack so it's all explosion.

With the .22WMR it would be mostly sonic crack.

ok im not phrazing my question right. if i shot high velocity ammo out of my unsuppressed rifle what percent of the sound would be a sonic crack vs explosion

Take you rifle and shoot it at a target at about 100 yds. The sonic crack is the sound you here that seems to move down range. I will try to get a video for you today that shows both..
