    ive never had any stock issues but i do stay with the wood one. does add extra weight to the gun though. Recoil not really the issue with .223 or muzzle loader its the muzzle jump that i found more than expected. Muzzle loader not as bad as .223. Wierd i know.

    You are right that is weird. I have never felt muzzle jump with a 223 in my Encore. Even my 10" Contender 223 doesn't have anything that I would consider surprising muzzle jump.

    I have heard too much about how they had rushed production on quite a few barrels and the riflings were too shallow on 1 side and too deep on the other.
